Vision Boards

Psalm 47: 1-2  Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.  How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth.

Do you know what a vision board is? Entrepreneurs use them for business to help set their goals, visualize them, and put things in motion to achieve them. But I think they could be used for sewers and quilters too.

A vision board has pictures, quotes, and ideas to inspire and motivate you. When planning a quilt, or designing a pattern, you could make a vision board and put your ideas on it. Cut out patterns you that inspire you. Put up pictures of clothing and accessories that you like.  Shoes!  Purses, totes, anything you might want  to make.  Then when you are in your sewing room, you will see these things and it will motivate you to go to work. Tack up scraps of fabric, bits of lace, a bead or two, a piece of yarn, cardboard, wire, whatever your medium might be. And, as always, be ready to change your mind and start all over again!

Read what my friend Paul Taubman says at his Gratitude website about using a vision board.  Paul finds gratitude every day, in every situation. Enjoy his site while you’re there.
